How to Save Public Instagram Stories

Save public Instagram Stories in the browser with IGSaver. Paste a public Story link—no signup, no app. Private and expired Stories are not supported.

Stories disappear quickly

Instagram Stories are designed to expire after about 24 hours (unless the creator adds them to a Highlight). If the Story is gone, the link stops working and IGSaver cannot recover it.

Only Stories that are publicly viewable without logging in can be saved. Close-friends lists and private accounts stay out of reach.

How to save a public Story with IGSaver

  1. Open the public Story and copy its share link while it is still live.
  2. Paste the link into the IGSaver download box on the home page.
  3. Download the photo or video Story item IGSaver resolves for that public link.

Why a Story download fails

  • The Story already expired or was deleted.
  • The account is private or the Story is close-friends-only.
  • The copied URL is a profile link rather than a Story media link.
  • Temporary Instagram or network errors — wait and try once more with a fresh copy.

Frequently asked questions

Can IGSaver save Highlights?

If a Highlight item is still public and you have a direct media link IGSaver can resolve, it may work. Bulk “download entire Highlight album” flows are not guaranteed; paste one public item at a time.

Do I need to log in?

No login is required for public Story links. IGSaver will not ask for Instagram credentials and cannot open private Stories.

Is this for personal use?

Yes. Only save Stories you have the right to keep offline, and respect the creator’s rights and Instagram’s terms.
